The Bioface Reader is a biometric door entry reader. Staff present their face, palm, fingerprint or card, and the reader passes the credential to your access control panel, which decides whether the door opens. It replaces keys and shared codes with a credential that cannot be lent, lost or copied, and every entry is recorded against the person who made it.

What you will need
A reader on its own does not control a door. You will also need an access control panel to make the decision, sized to the number of doors: the C3 and Inbio panels come in one, two and four door versions. You will also need a lock such as a mag lock, a push to exit and break glass for the secure side, and a power supply. Our Leeds team will spec the whole door for you if you would rather not work it out.
Before you install biometrics
Facial and palm data are special category data under UK GDPR, so you need a lawful basis and usually a data protection impact assessment before rolling them out, and staff need an alternative if they object. This is the same terminal as the Bioface MTD Clock, configured for door entry rather than clocking.
