The Inbio four door panel runs access control for four doors from a single unit, and it is the version to choose when any of them needs fingerprint entry. It takes fingerprint templates from the reader over RS485 and matches them at the panel, which the C3 range does not do. Four doors covers a floor of an office, a building with several entrances, or a site where the main door, the workshop, the server room and the stores all need controlling separately.
Specifications
| Doors controlled | Four, each with independent rules. The single and two door versions cover smaller sites. |
|---|---|
| Biometric support | Accepts the fingerprint reader over RS485, with templates matched at the panel rather than the door. |
| Mixed credentials | Card and fob readers work too, and you can mix them across the four doors: fingerprint on the server room and stores, card on the main entrance and workshop. |
| Access rules | Set separately per door and per person, so a cleaner gets the offices out of hours and nothing else, while a manager gets everything. |
| Audit trail | Every entry is recorded against a named person and a named door, so you can answer who went where and when across the whole building. |
What you will need
A reader for each door, either a fingerprint reader or an RFID reader for cards and fobs. Then a lock per door such as a mag lock, a push to exit and break glass for each secure side, and a power supply. At four doors it is worth having us spec the whole job, since cable runs and power become the thing that costs time on site.
Before you install biometrics
Fingerprint data is special category data under UK GDPR, so you need a lawful basis and usually a data protection impact assessment before rolling it out, and staff need an alternative if they object. This panel supports card and fob readers alongside fingerprint for exactly that reason, and on a four door system you can keep biometrics to the doors that genuinely need them. Our guide to UK GDPR and workforce data covers what you need in place, and our data security page explains how the data is stored.
Inbio or C3?
Both ranges come in one, two and four door versions and do the same core job. Inbio is the one to pick if any door needs fingerprint entry. If everyone on site will use a card or fob, the C3 four door panel is the cheaper and simpler choice.
