The S600 is an RFID clocking terminal for businesses that would rather not use biometrics. Staff clock in and out with a card, a fob or a PIN code, and their hours pass straight into Computime time and attendance software. It is quick, reliable and needs no enrolment beyond handing out a card.
Specifications
| Verification methods | RFID card or fob, and PIN code as a backup for anyone who has left their card at home. |
|---|---|
| No biometric data | Nothing about a person’s body is recorded, so there is no special category data to assess or justify under UK GDPR. |
| Connectivity | Wi-Fi enabled, so it can go where running a network cable would be difficult. |
| Internal memory | Stores clockings on the unit and uploads them when the connection returns, so a network outage does not lose a shift. |
What you will need
Each member of staff needs a credential to clock with. We supply RFID cards and RFID fobs in packs of 25, plus clamshell cards if you want something more robust for a workshop or site. A 12V power supply is also available if you do not already have one at the mounting point.
How it compares
The U600 is the same terminal with fingerprint verification added, at the same price, and stops one person clocking in for another. If you would rather have no wall-mounted hardware at all, staff can clock from their own phones with the Syncro mobile app. The full range is on our products page.
A note on cards and data
Card and fob clocking keeps you clear of the biometric question entirely, which is why some employers choose it. The trade-off is that a card can be passed to a colleague, where a fingerprint cannot. Our guide to UK GDPR and attendance data covers what you need in place either way, and our data security page explains how clocking data is stored.
Supplied, installed and supported from Leeds, with over 35 years of UK time and attendance experience behind it. Talk to us if you want it specified for your site.
