The U600 is a fingerprint clocking terminal for time and attendance. Staff clock in and out with a fingerprint, so nobody can clock in on a colleague’s behalf, and their hours pass straight into Computime time and attendance software. Card, fob and PIN entry are all supported on the same unit, so staff who cannot or prefer not to use a fingerprint still have a way to clock.
Specifications
| Verification methods | Fingerprint, RFID card or fob, and PIN code. Mix them across your workforce as suits, with no need to standardise on one. |
|---|---|
| Connectivity | Wi-Fi enabled, so it can go where running a network cable would be difficult. |
| Internal memory | Stores clockings on the unit and uploads them when the connection returns, so a network outage does not lose a shift. |
Before you install biometrics
Fingerprint data is special category data under UK GDPR, so you need a lawful basis and usually a data protection impact assessment before rolling it out, and staff need an alternative if they object. The U600 supports card, fob and PIN clocking for exactly that reason. Our data security page sets out how the data is stored.
How it compares
If you would rather avoid biometrics entirely, the S600 is the same idea using cards and fobs only, at the same price. If you want contactless clocking with no card at all, look at the facial recognition terminals on our products page.
