Each card is assigned to a person in your time and attendance software, so if one is lost you deactivate it and issue another without touching the rest.

Cards, fobs or clamshell?
Cards suit an office, where people already carry a wallet or a lanyard and a card doubles as an ID badge. Fobs go on a keyring and suit anyone who does not carry a badge. Clamshell cards are the thicker, tougher version for workshops and sites where a thin card would not last.
A note on cards and biometrics
