Data backup FAQs
Is my data backed up automatically?
Yes. Syncro Connect runs in the cloud and backs up your data to secure UK-based servers automatically, with nothing for you to schedule. The clocking in app also saves data on the device and syncs it when a connection returns, and installed Realtime systems are backed up in line with best practice.
What happens if a phone loses signal?
The clocking in app keeps working. It saves the clocking on the device and sends it to your system as soon as the signal comes back. Records can be delayed for a short time but they are not lost.
Is my data encrypted?
Yes. Your data is encrypted both while it travels and while it is stored. Encryption is a measure the ICO recommends for personal data, and it keeps your records private even if a device or connection is compromised.
Where is my data stored?
For Syncro Connect, your data is held on secure UK-based servers. If you run Realtime as an installed system, your data stays within your own environment and we help you set up an appropriate backup process for it.
Can my data be recovered if something goes wrong?
Yes. If a device fails, a record is deleted by mistake or you suffer another incident, your data can be restored from backup so you can keep running payroll and reporting with minimal disruption.
Does this help with data protection compliance?
Keeping personal data secure and being able to restore it are part of your responsibilities under UK data protection law, and the ICO lists an appropriate backup process among the measures organisations should have. Our encrypted, backed up and recoverable storage supports those obligations. We are not lawyers, so we would always suggest checking your own requirements, but the groundwork is in place.
